I’ve never felt unsafe in Simpsonville.  That’s in part due to the sense of community and the small-town feel of the city, but it’s also because of our first-rate public safety services.

Our Fire Department’s efforts have earned Simpsonville an ISO rating of 2.  That’s great! It means that we’re not just safe but we’re also a prime location for new industry.  A low ISO rating leads to lower insurance rates–a big incentive for businesses in particular.

Our Police Department is also top-notch–with a focus on community programs, like the Citizens Police Academy, and community services, like extra vacation patrols and the Citizens Assistance Program.

I believe that part of city council’s job is to ensure that first-rate services like these are supported and nurtured, so Simpsonville continues being the kind of city where we all feel safe.
