Zoning & Affordable Housing–Myrtle Beach Example

As I’ve said before, there are lots of ways to increase affordable housing opportunities in our City. This article talks about how Myrtle Beach recently worked on changes to their zoning ordinance to allow upper-story residential uses in the highway commercial zone in an effort to create more workforce housing. I’m not saying this would work for Simpsonville, but it does show that there are many ways to ensure those who work here can also live here.
