It’s Hunger & Homelessness Awareness Week. The Greenville Homeless Alliance released a report last Friday morning on the state of homelessness in Greenville County in 2019.
Some key takeaways:
🔷 Of the at least 3,633 people who experienced homelessness, 1,106 were school-aged children.
🔷 60% of those are elementary school children.
🔷 Both Simpsonville Elementary and Plain Elementary are on the list of the top ten Greenville County schools with homeless students.
