I’ve noticed this too. When traffic gets backed up and frustration arises, people will often try to hurry past the car turning left. Otherwise, they know they could get stuck as the light turns red. Again. It’s understandable because it takes so much time to get to and through the light. But it’s also dangerous because oncoming traffic is still coming, and it’s difficult too see.
