Community Engagement is Important

Love reading these stories about community engagement! I think it’s so important to get out and engage with the communities we serve. That’s why we do the Coffee with Council meetings. And why we had the sidewalk/stormwater drainage meeting with residents from Woodside Mills. It’s why we held the Simpsonville Trails public meeting, and why recently Councilman Lou Hutchings and I arranged the Westwood Neighborhood Public Safety Meeting, which also featured Chief Hanshaw, other SPD officers, and our new Codes Enforcement Officer, John Derby. Hearing directly from you is important, and I look forward to upcoming opportunities to do so. Also, don’t forget to save the date for Simpsonville Police Department ‘s National Night Out Event on August 7th. This is a great opportunity to engage with our Chief and officers!
